The 8 fee layers other calculators skip
Etsy profit calculator: what you actually keep
eRank, EtsyHunt and EverBee all stop at “Etsy takes 6.5%”. This calculator keeps going: payment processing, currency conversion, sales tax, VAT, duty, the Payoneer payout fee, FX loss, returns and ad spend. Every single line opens the Etsy help article it came from.
The rates are not guesses. They were extracted from Etsy’s own help centre (94 articles, 92 rate items) and each line in the result carries the article IDs it was computed from, so you can check any number yourself.

The 8 layers the big calculators leave out
Each of these is an official Etsy rate or an official statement that the rate is not published. That is the difference between this calculator and a 6.5% calculator.
Currency conversion fee - 2.5%
Charged when your listing currency is not your payment account currency, on the sale amount, before the funds land.
Sales tax - collected and remitted for you
Etsy is a marketplace facilitator in 46 US jurisdictions. The rate depends on the taxing authority, so no single number can be given - and you cannot opt out.
Customs duty into the EU - EUR 3 per item
Since 1 July 2026, Etsy charges EU buyers EUR 3 per item on orders under EUR 150, on top of VAT. A EUR 2 Union handling fee applies from 1 November 2026.
VAT - charged to the buyer at checkout
Etsy charges EU and UK buyers VAT on the package value and remits it. The rate itself is not published in Etsy’s help centre, so it is never guessed here.
Payout fee - Payoneer charges it
Etsy deposits in USD only. Payoneer charges for the withdrawal and applies its own conversion when it pays out in your currency.
FX loss - the conversion markup
The gap between the mid-market rate and the rate Payoneer actually gives you. Etsy publishes no number for it, so you enter your own assumption.
Returns - refunded revenue and unrecovered fees
A refund takes the revenue back, and Etsy does not refund the payment processing fee proportionally in every case.
Ad spend - CPC plus the Offsite Ads commission
Etsy Ads is a CPC auction with no published price list, and a sale attributed to an Offsite Ad costs 15% (12% above USD 10,000 of shop revenue), capped at USD 100 per order.
Questions this calculator answers
+Why does my profit differ from what Etsy shows me?
Because Etsy shows your balance, not your profit. The balance still has to pay for shipping, packaging, ads, refunds, the payout fee and the currency conversion. That gap is exactly what this calculator measures.
+Is the 2.5% currency conversion fee avoidable?
Yes. It is charged only when your listing currency differs from your currency on your payment account. If you list in USD - which is what Etsy requires for Payoneer deposits - it does not apply.
+What is the break-even ad budget?
The share of the price you can spend on ads and still break even on the order. Below it the order makes money, above it the order loses money even before you count your time.
+Are these the official rates?
Every rate that comes from Etsy is taken from Etsy’s own help centre and carries the article ID. Where Etsy publishes no number - Payoneer fees, US state tax rates, EU VAT rates, Etsy Ads CPC - the calculator says so instead of inventing one.
